Estatua en honor a Chris Cornell fue vandalizada

La estatua de Chris Cornell, ubicada en su natal ciudad Seattle, fue vandalizada según reportó Kiro 7 News. La viuda del cantante estadounidense también se pronunció ante el denigrante acto.

El medio de comunicación local informó que la noche del último jueves 20 de agosto, un sujeto no identificado pintó de blanco el monumento en honor al cantante de Soundgarden.

Vicky Cornell escribió desde la cuenta de Instagram del alguna vez vocalista de Soundgarnden y aseguró que sus hijos y ella están mortificados por el reciente hecho.

«La estatua no solo es una obra de arte en memoria a Chris, sino que significa su legado musical y todo lo que representó. El odio no ganará y pronto será restaurada», escribió la mujer.

La estatua de Chris Cornell fue develada en octubre del 2018, sus compañeros de Soundgarnden: Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron y Ben Shepherd estaban presentes, además de su esposa Vicky, sus tres hijos y algunos familiares. El monumento se encuentra en el Museo de la cultura Pop (MoPOP) de Seattle.

The statue is not only a work of art but a tribute to Chris, his incomparable musical legacy and everything that he stood for. It represents Chris, who is beloved not only in Seattle, but worldwide.
